burn treatment
pamperedalan asked:

I just burnt my inner forearm on a waffle iron (lol) and i quickly ran it under cool water for around 10 minutes, then soaked a washcloth in cold water and applied it and would cool and reapply when it lost temperature. I did this for about 30 minutes. The burn has two white lines from the iron, and a red circle around them. It burns and i’ve wrapped it in gauze. Should i apply neosporin or a burn spray? I’ve read not to but that doesn’t seem right. Thanks in advance.

Keep putting cold water on it until it stops hurting.

Then keep it clean and dry. The intact skin will be enough to prevent infection.

If it gets dry and hard as it heals, some lotion or hand cream will keep it soft and prevent cracking.
